Parting 1977 530i - what should I keep?
Hi all,
I'm parting a 1977 530i. I'm planning on keeping the headlights, taillights, fuel pump, entire drive train, as well as the front and rear suspensions. This car has a lot of rust in bad spots, and although it has a set of "early" doors, they are rusted out, too. All the electrics are pretty ...

Cheap replacement for turn signal relay
Hi all,
I figured my clapped out 1979 528i needed a new turn signal relay. I swapped in a couple I had laying around, but they were all bad. "Okay," I thought, "I'll just buy a new one". Those motherfuckers cost well over $100! The cheapest I could find was $110. Wow, time to get creative ...

Roof rust
Hi all,
I have done floor repairs on both the E21s I've had the pleasure of owning, so I kinda know that I'm getting myself into.
I bought an E12 because I wanted one and this one was practically being given away. I've had the car for a few months, and I just recently really started taking the ...

Looks like I'm gonna have to get some vacuum hoses and hook the ICV back up and see if that fixes it. Would it be possible to get by without a vacuum limiter?
I will admit that I do not have any hands-on experience with Motronic 1.3, but since the resident expert says it needs the inductive pickup ...

Remedy for hackjob de-smog?
Not directly E12 related, but close:
I bought a $350 Califorina 1979 633csi. Turns out someone got sick of all the smog crap and removed it all. They were heavy handed, though - the vacuum limiter is gone and the Jules Vern device is disconnected. The car runs surprisingly well, but, if you rev it ...
