I've had the bushings at the pivot point under the brake booster fall out and allow things to get in a bind holding the throttle open.

Not a fun thing.

You are correct on the headroom with the E34 seats. You will lose a little. On the other hand, last year at Watkins Glen, my friend drove my car with a race helmet on. I'm not sure if these seats are heated. They're from a 525i that's fairly low end.

There's a white E34 540i sitting beside it with gray leather, power, memory, etc. which I'm sure are heated, but the gray won't match my interior.

The headlight switch is also a rheostat for the dash lights. Check / clean the coil windings. Or maybe just a clockwise turn will light things up....thats how I fixed what I thought was a dash light problem.

The central locking all works off the drivers door unit. Dash lights work off of the headlight switch. My guess is you have a ground problem somewhere.
