No damage. The E34 had a lighter balancer than the E12 and everything is independently balanced anyway.

When I pulled the wiring and the pedal bracket from the M535i, I remembered there being two wires that passed through a grommet in the pedal bracket next to the hole for the steering column. The wiring that comes through under the rear seat is for the brake pad sensor on the right rear wheel. Fuel pump wiring passes through the rear bulkhead and through a plug in the floor of the trunk.

Fuel sending unit wiring is part of the main car harness and breaks off below the right tail lamp ...

The E24 cooler lines are different than the E12 ones. I have an E24 that still has this setup in tact and will trace the lines to see which ends up where. My M535i setup is still out of the car and I can show the difference in the lines too if that helps and also a photo of the bracket on the left ...

Well, the shape is somewhat similar, but they're not really the same. The E28 valance is more angular while the E12 valance has that more subtle, delicate (?) look to it. Still, it will bolt right on.

'75-'76 had solid front rotors and studs, so they're quite different. 9/76 would be the start of the '77 model year. When you have a car that is on the cusp like yours, I'd just look at '78 530i stuff, but really, they're all the same.

There's an FAQ on this. The grease has turned to more of a glue-like substance and you really need to disassemble it and clean it up and re-lube it.

Your turn signal issue is likely with the hazard switch.

Yay! There is an FAQ on repair but as of yet, I've been 100% unsuccessful with rebuilding these and I've been trying for about 15 years starting with E21s. They never end up sitting perfectly centered so there's always something making ...

There isn't really a market for them. Someone made a fiberglass mold of the rear spoiler.
