Yes I am using the 'b34 intake. Is there anywhere in particular I need to drill, or will anywhere on the manifold do?

Brake Booster vacuum hose

I'm just buttoning up my b34 swap, but I'm not sure what to do with the vacuum hose for the brake booster. I'm putting the engine in as is (although I have cleaned it well) and I'm keeping the Motronic fuel injection. Do I need to run this to the valve cover where is was before, or is there ...

Sounds like it will work if you can lift the car high enough.

I think it's an E3, but this is how the factory installed everything.

I know of a 105k b34 from an '85 535iA, $350. Unfortunately it's in NH. :(

Do you know RealOEM.com ? They have the BMW parts catalog online so you can look up the numbers. The prices aren't always up to date. Unless it says Ended, the part is still available form the dealer. It is more expensive, but if you want new stock springs, that is probably the place to get them. If ...

Start by replacing the parts that are worn out. After 32 years everything is suspect. Check the shocks, check the suspension bushings, etc. If you want to upgrade stuff, Bilstein shocks have a great reputation (and warranty).

Really what you want to do is give the car a good going over and replace ...

It is my understanding that they will rebuild them for you. I'm not sure how much they cost.

You could swap the front struts from a later car and then use those rotors and pads.

There is someone on ebay selling full color e12 wiring diagrams. I haven't gotten one yet, so I can't speak to the quality. I am just arriving at this stage in my own swap.

undo the 4 bolts that hold the fan clutch to the water pump. if you remove the fan and fan clutch together from the car it may be easier to separate them. You may have to loosen the alternator to get some slack on the belt.

I'm really glad I'm in New Hampshire and not California, all this smog stuff  The car however was in california till 2000, then in MT for 6 years and ME for 4.

I'll keep my eyes open for a 265, it is currently a 4 speed.

Thanks for the help so far

Motor/Transmission swap question

I have a 1979 528i manual. After finally getting it going it is clear to both me and the two mechanics that are helping me that the motor needs to be rebuilt. Instead of rebuilding the 2.8, I decided to do a b34 swap, it will cost less and add some power. So I went looking for an engine and another ...
