Jeff, ty -- I'm back on the road this week. When I get back home later this week I'll call you.

Call me or email.

LOL Mike. I'm heading out to buy 50 yards of shore line and I'll be sure to pickup that blinker fluid then :) I'm going to save that pic and use it on someone else.

An update on the brake lights issue. I noticed the brake lights are ALWAYS on---since I drive with my lights on all the time I didn't ...

Blinker & Brake Light issue

my newest issue is that my blinker makes a very fast clicking sound when flipped on. I've walked around the car and confirmed that all the lights are working, including the lights on the side of car at all four corners. There is no difference between Right and Left-side blinkers.

When blinkers are ...

ignition / start issue resolved

guys thanks for your assist on this issue.

The issue is fixed. One of the prior owners had connected a Start Button by splicing it's wires into existing wires. Trouble was they used Scotch tape to hold the wires together. One of the wires had come loose and it wasn't easy to find the spot where it ...

ty Mike. I'll take a look at those when I get back home.

I realize we're still not much closer on your no start, but look at what color and where what wires are at the ignition switch.

Damn you guys are good. Yes, it is the blinker. It's odd this blinker clicking sound coincided with my no start issue.

Sorry for the delay getting back to read the posts but I was called out of town on business on short notice. When I get home I'll start debugging the no start issue.

Thanks for ...

No, door is closed. Only happens with Ignition to "ON" position.

I'm wondering if clicking could be caused by weak battery? I've charged this battery over night but maybe battery needs replacement.

update on ignition issue with pic's

thanks for the words of encouragement. When I turn the ignition to "ON" position I get a fast click. The component that is making the clicking sound is located under dash just to the right of the hood release. Do you know what this component/module is and why it's clicking? Please see pics here ...

Guys, I'm embarassed. I bought this car a few months ago and assumed the start button was stock (I have a start button on my other BMW). Kudo's to the PO for installing the button with such a stock appearance, although I don't applaud the use of scotch tape to connect the wires.

Now that I know ...

Ignition and dash lights come on now. However when I turn ignition to the ON position, there is a fast clicking sound. I didn't think it wise to press the Start button, fearing I have a short somewhere.

I dropped the cover below the dash so I could check the connections and wiring. There are two ...

Thanks for the direction guys. OK, Mike W taught me a battery lesson: "don't judge the battery connection with your eyes, just clean the damn terminals". So Mike, I cleaned the terminals, charged the battery with charger directly attached to the battery positive terminal and viola --- I'm now ...

Pressed Ignitiion Start button ==> click/then dead

I pressed ignition start button and the engine just started to turn over and then the entire electrical system went dead. (no instrument panel lights, no dome/no radio, etc).

I put the battery on charger hoping this was simple battery issue, but not. Battery is fully charged and still no signs of ...

wow Josh - that's a beautiful interior shown in your pics !!!

Here are some shots of my car from last summer on the ST Springs w/ Bilstein Sports. Pretty much the same now, but I have raised the rear perch all the way so it has a little more rake to it.

Thanks for the advice guys. Once I fix this I'll report back what the specific issue was. No shortage of hot weather to test the cooling system with.

ty Blaise & Alexander

my newer BMW fan sometimes turns on after I've shut down motor. I've been trying to diagnose cooling issue on my E12 and haven't yet put my hands on the radiator to see if there are cool spots.
