radiator removal

Post by Scott Bunn »

I removed the radiator today and also got out the a/c core. I found salvage yard yellow marker on my harmonic. Other than that it went well. I documented it on photobucket and will continue to do so......

Scott, are you looking for a passenger door in green?

Post by bigperm206 »

Scott,

I'm not sure if you need a green passenger side door but I've got one from a '79 if you are interested?

passenger front

Post by Scott Bunn »

Thank you, but that's why I purchased the 78. It hasn't been abused like my 77. Gretchen is still stock and all I need to have is the weather cooperate with my work schedule to get the time to finish the dismantle. I am hoping for mid summer as a completion date. BTW I would be interested in purchasing the combo relay from your E12 if you still have it? It reads Drehzahlschalter with a series of numbers underneath like 0 335 530 014 .
Let me know.

Combo Relay

Post by bigperm206 »

Sounds good. I wasn't sure about the door so I thought I would offer. I'll check on the combo relay and let you know what I find.

Do you think people are still interested in meeting up somewhere for a coffee and discussion?

Meeting

Post by Scott Bunn »

Yes, I am still on for the meet. When is a good time for you? Maybe we should set the time, place, location and then see who wants to show? I am about 1.5 hours north and will need time to get there, besides the getting lost factor.

Meet location

Post by bigperm206 »

I've got a Bosch combo relay, part number 0 332 514 121, which is supposed to work for 78-81's. Let me know if you think it will work for you.

I was thinking Seattle since it is about equal between you and Tacomagabe but I'm open to meeting in Lynnwood which would be a little closer to you. Are you going to be driving down toward Lynnwood/Seattle in the near future? We could set up the meet to coincide when you are down this way. That way you wouldn't have to make two trips. Just a thought. I could meet this Sunday late afternoon or early morning like 9:30. Let me know what you think.

Yeah that would be cool if you guys picked a date and time that would work for the most people then I would see if I could make it. I drive up to Seattle every weekday for work right now and am off at 2:30 so would be able to meet most weekdays after that. Weekends are a little nuts right now due too moving out of a really moldy apartment, moving into wife's parents basement  , trying to buy a house, and trying to get to a family weekend april 3-5.....So sounds fun whatever works for you guys I'll try to make it work for me.

How about including e12 based 6'ers

Post by bigperm206 »

Any thoughts on including e12 based 6'ers and their owners at the upcoming get together?

Meeting

My work is gearing up for the busy season and weekends are mandatory right now. I usually have mon tues off though. Also my radiator is still in the shop so I wont be able to drive Helga until I get it back. I haven't had the time to make the green one, Gretchen, road worthy.

Maybe a weeknight meetup

Post by bigperm206 »

would it be worth it to try and meet up in the evening during the week in Seattle? Maybe that would make it easier for the guys coming from north and south who may already be in Seattle for work.

Hi Puget Sounders,

I've been away from FirstFives for a while and just reregistered. Found this thread and it's causing me to reconsider getting rid of my 1980 E12. It was rear ended recently and I just figured it's time was up, but it isn't really damaged that badly. My uninsured motorist insurance coughed up $828 which would probably fix it, other than paint.

If you are having a Seattle get together, I'd like to join in if I can and get some opinions on my situation.

Thanks,
John

Is the E12 get together dead?

Post by nerdorama »

This is just a bump since it's been some days since the last post. Anything happening with the Seattle E12 social? I know I'm sort of inviting myself, but it would be fun to meet some E12'ers and get/share some advice.

Thanks,
John

Seattle metropolitan area meetup

Post by bigperm206 »

We just need to pick a date and time. I know we've got some folks who live a little farther north and south who might find it easier to meet during the week after work somewhere in Seattle.

I am still on for the meet-n-greet. I am available sun afternoon thru tuesday. I can meet anywhere picked and would love to do so. I am still taking my 77 apart and am trying to get the 78 roadworthy. Just let me know.
