non-start, could it be the valve cover?

Post by 2002jm »

So, I have been working on the m535 and took the valve cover off to check the banjo bolt and then put it back on. About a week later I tried to start the car, yesterday. Would not start....so I thought what have I done that would cause a major vac. leak....the valve cover????
So I tightened it down some more. There was one that was lose  .
Got that done and car started right up 8) .
I am going to replace all the rest of the vac. lines today!!!

Did you mess with the distributor at all when you removed the valve cover? You could have aligned it on the wrong teeth...

Just took the cover off, did not mess with dist. at all. Will double check to be sure everything is on tight.

haha

sounds like my "adjusted throttle body and wouldn't start"

"Got that done and car started right up"

Does that mean you started it up now?

All I did to fix the problem was tighten down the valve cover:). Starts right up now.
