Mechanical advance repair?

Post by DirtyBarbarian »

My distributor seems to have no mechanical advance. With the vacuum advance plugged there is no movement of the timing mark while revving. Is it possible to just replace the springs and/or weights to fix the problem or do i need to replace to entire distributor.

Did you try to clean & oil the mechanism? They can get stuck. One should drop some drops of oil in the axe under the rotor every now and then.
If you take the base plate out you can see what is going on there.
