YEA!!
Like I said before, you gotta make sure all the connections are spiffy clean.
What name brand name oil filter will you use??
We all recommend Mahle, Bosch, K&N; there's another really good brand I can't think of right now.
Anybody out there? My mind's a blank!

Bosch. Already picked it up when I was planning the oil change back before the alternator had decided to short out on me before.

You said 'To get the oil changed'.
Who's gonna change it & are they trustworthy?
Will they use the right filter is what I mean; and will they clean out the oil filter
bottle??
I say that because I caught my mechanic of many years not cleaning out the bottle.
They became very complacent & I had to remind them of our relationship!

Someone who has good rep with my family. I'll walk them through the numbers if need be.

Glad to hear that your car is running!
I don't thing that low idle is related to oil quality, but it's a good thing you have it running again.
