Installing e30 Recaros in e12

Hey guys, I have an 81 that I'd love to put a pair of recaros into, but I need to know what all is entailed in the installation. I have the recaro rails and obviously the rails that are on the stock seats.

Any tips / pointers would be helpful.

Only from my 635 with Scheel seats, the frames got mocked up in position, marked and drilled for mounting bolts. But that's from removing them, as they came installed.

If I wish to use the stock rails one day it will be a common sense problem of measuring the differences in rail widths and welding up the spacers. And, mine are manual.

Are they real Recaro seats or E30 sport seats? You can get an adapter to use E30 sports on E28 seat bases (same as the late E12). If they are real Recaro seats, Chris Kohler is making custom brackets to mount them to the bases we have.

I have a set of real Recaros mounted to Chris' brackets on my stock E12 bases.

and how much did this setup cost? im thinking about doing this myself since my stock seats is on its way out
