Brake rotors....Vented or not? 78' 530....

I'm about to go through my brakes. I did last summer, but since then, caliper is sticking sometimes and the master is toast.

New master and brake lines on the way....and A caliper...

But, here is my question.

Were vented rotors an option? Mine are not and I just wanted to make sure I ordered the right one. I'll probably yank it and take it down to Napa for the core exchange to make sure, but I was wondering about the vented one.

I think I remember someone just having this problem. Canada Karl maybe?

Thanks in advance and hope everyone is having a nice summer.

I haven't checked Realoem, but 77/78 was the nominal change between solid and vented front rotors. I think the strut housing is the same, again, check Realoem, but you would need new calipers along with rotors to do an upgrade.

And all of the preceeding means you should have vented on a 78.

Thanks Mike. Again.

I got a look at them and they are, of course, VENTED and I am a DING-DONG. I was looking for slotted venting, like on a motorcycle, not actually within the middle of the disc as they are done. One caliper is toast so going for two to do it right. Hopefully, in a few days, I'll have new calipers and a master.

Cheers

Even though you have vented and don't need to worry... the rotors fit but the calipers won't. I upgraded my solid to vented (stupidly after I'd modified the strut to a coilover) and we have to do some fiddling around with the caliper mount.
