Curious as to what you guys think,

As all of you know our E12s arent exactly young anymore, finding parts for it is getting more of a challenge. Not to mention the price tag on parts. Im curious as to whether or not if theres another option to the shifter to update it to the push on type shift knob. I know theses cars should stay with the classic look but im curious to know of anyone else updated their shifter to accept the newer shift knob design rather then the screw on type?

I think it is common to make this change. Autosolutions makes custom short shift kits and you can specify which you would like. If you want to use a stock BMW shifter, just find out that has the proportions that you want and install it. The only items that need to be the same are the ball pivot and the lower link connection.
