I have been searching for a muffler and resonator ( 1980 528i) and cannot find one on the Internet. I am not finding aftermarket stuff as well.
Most sites have exhaust parts like hangers and stuff but no mufflers.
Is there a generic Muffler available?

Thank you Blaise.
I froze when I couldn't find them at my usual spots.

And Tischer and Pelican parts if you want OE. And I'm sure others do. Or punch in the P/N and BMW and just do a search. Sometimes it's surprising what comes up.

Bought an an Ansa three years pago.Cost was $400, installed. A little throatier than original. It also seems heavier than original. After going through muffler shop rubber donuts every three months someone suggested going to BMW dealer for the donuts and the mid section hanger. Well worth the extra few dollars.

You could just have a good muffler shop make a 2.5" system from the cat back. 4" round Magnaflow as a resonator in the middle and a 6" round (I think that will fit) in the rear. I have such a system in my Bavaria and the sound is pure sex. With a catalytic converter, it should be a bit less loud.

Anyone have a current source for an Ansa muffler or resonator? I've had to go back to the stock Bosal, but would prefer the Ansa if they still made them.

Or go to the Ansa website find the number and search off that. Or try Steve at Blunttech, I think he can get stuff that isn't listed on the catalog. It looks like the resonator might be NLA unless you can find some old stock, but the muffler appears to still be available.
