Guys, I'm drawing a blank. What is the name of the system used before the catalytic converter, that over heated the head???
You'll say it & I'll say, "Of course, I knew that! I just couldn't think of it".
Still a blank! Was the'79 the last year or the '78???

BMWs name was Thermo Reactor.

After finding how hot it made her first E21 run my wife took to calling them nuclear reactors.

Model year 78 was the last of them in E12s, in other BMWs of the era, Es 21, 23 and 24, 79 was the last year. E12s obviously got cats a year earlier for some reason.

Of course! I knew that, I just couldn't think of it!!
