If I push the hazard flasher button the flashers won't come on unless the L or right turn signal stock is on?.....the green turn signal instrument cluster light is out. Electronics is not my strong point. Anyone have an idea of what is going on here and how to resolve it?

One of the tiny copper strips on the Mylar sheet was folded over where it was supposed to contact the instrument cluster light bulb contact.......I bent it back and cleaned up the contacts with electrical contact cleaner.....I guess the current had backtracked to the emergency flashers when it couldn't contact the bulb......I had to pull the instrument cluster to get in there. Works good now.

Hi Carl,
I am new to firstfives and I have a quick question about your turn signal situation. When I got the car, the turn signal was not working. After trial and error, I found that when the hazard button is in the "on" position, they work. Out of the blue, my hazard button will not stay pushed in. Now I have to lever the indicator right or left and push the hazard button in for the signal to come on.
How did you fix your turn signal situation? It sounds like you were able to disconnect it from your hazards all together.
