Need Help Please. Thermal Reactor EGR ...

So basically I need to get these reactors off so my car can stop running hot. I need a quick fix if possible. I see the breakdown on our Tech FAQ, but wondering if these things can simply be taken off by a muffler shop and this will at least bring the temps down right now?
Appreciate the help. Until I can save a bit more funds for car issues, I am stuck and this LA heat is killing! I don't want to crack my heads and right now everything is tip top shape.

Nikki,
The simplest way would be to find some M30 manifolds pre-reactors like a set from a Bavaria and order a set of gaskets then take it to your local shop. They will need to make down pipes from the manifolds or a full exhaust from the manifolds back.
Not sure about the laws in CA will you be required to run a cat in the place of the reactors?
If you have trouble finding a set of manifolds I have an extra set but they are heavy to ship maybe someone on your coast has a set. Let me know if you need them. Jeff

Yes, Jeff and Nikki. We definitely need a cat and a smog sensor!

Will the manifold from a 1980 fit, for instance?
I ask 'cause they should already have the hole for the sensor?

No, not even close. 530s have two downpipes, 528i's only have one. Bav's and E28 M30s have two manifolds and downpipes similar to 530s, 528's have one manifold that goes into the other with a single outlet and downpipe. Lots can be made to work, but I'm trying to keep it relatively simple.
