Seat belt removal

Does anyone know how to remove seat belts from the pillar trim pieces on the left and right sides of an '81 E12? I am trying to sell the trim pieces and seat belts separately.

It's a matter of looking at how much hassle it is to remove the plastic top slot cover, to maybe squeeze the clasp through the slot, or monkey around with the spring loaded belt spool, disassemble,...
Which if you think about it, is why few buyers are looking for seat belt assemblies in bags of parts.
