Heater Hoses after B34/35 conversion

For anyone that did a later style engine in your e12, what heater hoses did you use? Did you use the original steel pipe and hoses to the firewall, or did you use later rubber and plastic T? What combination works well? Early e12 fitment, if that matters. one of the hoses is '76 only, which is the car in question, so I'm ordering that one just in case anyway.

I'm using the e28 rubber line under the intake rather than the e12 metal line. The line from the T to the heater inlet is e28, and the line from the T to the reservoir is e12 (although it's a bit kinked).

Ditto. My set-up sounds identical to pappentl--right down to the ever so slight kink on the reservoir line.

FWIW if you go this route, I believe that the later style engines have a clamp/harness for the coolant hose that runs under the manifold. (I think this harness attaches to the intake manifold supporting arm, but I'm a little foggy on that). Make sure you find one of those.

If I recall correctly, the issue is how to get coolant to the heater, and how to connect the coolant expansion tank, right?
In my '76, when I installed an E32 motronic engine, I replaced the plate on the back of the head with the e12 water outlet so I could reuse the E12 hose towards the heater input. For the output heater output I kind of re-used what I could find, kind of matching the E32 rubber hose solution but with a T in the middle from where I used a hose to connect the expansion tank. Worked like a charm.
