hoses on mastehr clutch cylinder

Post by bsheridan »

Doing a auto to manual trans on a 1981 bmw 528i. On Realoem diagram there is a hose that I don't know where it goes. Is there a expansion tank that is listed or does it attach to the brake expansion tank?
Any help would be appreciated.

If it's the hose above, it goes to the brake fluid reservour. There is a stub you cut the end off of to install it there. Use blue brake line, not fuel line, there is a difference.

Where does one get this blue brake line? Is it the same material as the low pressure power steering lines? I need those too.

AutohausAZ has it. It's not the same as PS low pressure lines, it's only 7 or 8MM and the PS uses 16MM I think it is. Get it at the same place. And one's rated for brake fluid and the other oil.

hose on master clutch cycl

Thanks Mike for the info. I looked on the brake expansion tank and sure enough there is a side outlet with a cap on it. I use the realoem pictures all the time to identify parts. My BMW manual dated 4/80 doesn't show anything about the 265/6 five speed trans.

Again thanks for the info
