euro cluster in auto...will it fit in the 5sp

Post by 2002jm »

Hi: I have a chance to buy a euro km cluster from a 1978 E12 530i, automatic. I just want the speedometer. Just wondering if it would fit in a 1980 m535i?
thanks for any help,
jm

I would think so, as long as they are individually interchangeable pieces, and if yours is original German cluster with a MPH (US) speedometer then I think you have your answer.

Yes, mine is the euro cluster with the usa speedometer. I would just need the speedometer, everything else works great.
thanks,

When you're in there, can you take pics of the wiring? I replaced my dash and am having a hell of a time figuring what goes where.

No problem, but right now I am having a problem getting the cluster, so it might be awhile.

First you say you have a chance to buy the Euro cluster, then, you say you're having a problem getting the cluster.
That makes me curious; what's the holdup, if I may ask?
Also, do you have the cover under the steering post out?

I am just waiting for people to get back to me.....thought I had two leads, but who knows now:).
Yes, the cover is off, and I have read the info. on how to take out the cluster.
Seems about the same as the e30, ore28 ones I have taken out.
