Getrag 265

Post by MLBS3V12 »

Hi all,

I've bought a getrag 265 which has to be reworked.
Does someone has the manual from this gearbox?
I'm also looking to have pictures from a dismantling/reworking to help me to do the same thing.
Thank you for any feedback on this topic.

The 265 is generally regarded as not cost effective to fix and requiring special tools that make it unfeasible to repair. While I've been inside a few (other, not 265 transmissions), I'm not a transmission guy and can't confirm or deny, except that very few places will even look at them. If you do want to tackle it yourself, this is the best resource I know of, the factory manual. Not great and the pictures are terrible, but it's something.

Yes it's for an E24, but a 265 is a 265 and the E12 portion doesn't list the 265.

I always heard that, too, but have given mine to a decent transmission place that had an old manual/"foreign job" guy and, with the manual and parts diagrams I printed for them, had no problem at all.

Thank you both for your feedback.

Cheers
