Adding a Tachometer to a Euro 518

Post by JMinNJ »

Hi,

My euro spec 518 has a nice big clock where the tachometer would be. Right now the clock is not operational. I would prefer a working tach. I have scored an NOS tach for a 518. What are the chances that the wiring is in place and all I have to do is plug and play?

Would would be required to wire a stock tach if there is no wiring?

Thanks

I know the later 2002 had the (black) wire in place even when delivered w/o tachometer. If not, you need to pull a wire from the negative side of the ignition coil to the tachometer to get it to work. Not a difficult task.
