I probably have one. What's wrong with the one you have? They're usually not a wear item.

First question : You have none, or any of the linkage ?

That's different from taking what you have, cleaning, replacing the few parts ( shaft bushings ) that wear to make things sloppy.

Ebay currently lists bodies. If you have one to visually match the basic body with a photo, all that will be left is adding the brackets, etc.

If you know all this, never mind.

the car stalls, wont hold an idle, plus I messed with all the adjusting screws on it. a mechanic told me it needs to be replaced. I found one in ohio and ordered it. 120 bucks.

There is a difference between a "mechanic" and a "technician" ... Kinda sounds like a waste of money to me since you can repair the one you have as THanson mentioned.

The micro switches on the side can be had for 20$ (which would cause an electrical fault and cause the idle control valves to not work properly)

Never can have too many throttle bodies. Now you can take one apart,...to see how the crud can build up in the big brass needle and lower cooling chamber. Clean the corroded bolts, replace the gasket.

It's good to have the second body to copy for assembly.

carbs wear out at the shafts and wont idle. Yours must be really roached. Sure it isnt just dirty?

both rear power windows inop from all switches

Post by metsfan3321 »

1979 528i. the front power windows both work but the rears do not work from the front switches or the rear. I'm not getting power or ground to the motors with a test light when the switch is activated. next I took down the knee panel on driver side where the automatic cut off switch. I moved the four plugs around at the cut off switch and the front windows did not work. I put them back to the original postions and now the fonts work again. Can this automatic cut off go bad? I'm assuming the rear windows would be an open circuit if it did fail. when you press the cut off switches the both pop out like circuit breakers. I really cant see it being both rear power window motors being bad. I know that's possible but to me I think it could be something that the two share. or maybe the child switch on the driver master switch is faulty.... any help would be appreciated. thanks
