Differential Drive output flange hex bolt torque?

Anyone know what the torque on this bolt (07119914699 in Realoem) should be?....regular M12 torque?? Took off the output flange after I installed a different trailing arm and found that bolt to be loose! Guess that happened when the car got hit. Hope there's no damage to the Diff.

The Diff is F**ked....but I'm not giving up.....I'm just going to wait until a parts car shows up if ever. Can't say I wasn't warned by the people on this forum. Nice yard art though.

Whatever you do DON'T bookmark this site for future reference. In this case look at the top of the 528i contents for the torque settings. You will find the correct number immediately and miss all the fun of waiting for somebody to personally answer your question.

I just did my axles at 45ft lbs.. officially its 42-48 ... great manual

I looked at the manual but could not find the spec? I'm not one of these assholes that's too lazy to look so he posts a question on a forum. If you know where in the manual this spec exists this then would you be so kind as to direct me to where it is in the manual. Not that it matters now that I know the Diff died from blunt force trauma from a Chevy half-ton.

At the top of the contents page : Maintenance and general hints. Click on that. Second line down: Torque settings.

In addition if you read the list of maintenance items, each one often has the applicable torque settings.

Do not be offended by my attempt at guidance. I can't find my keys if I am looking right at them.

One day when I have the pieces I'll swap my rear end for an e28, and when I do I'll look you up to see if you're still waiting for parts...
