Can I just unplug the sensors ? Maybe clip off the ends and twist, tape them as the useless things they are ?
Only asking as the light was never on, the calipers are rebuilt as new, the rear sensor wire hasn't had the plug in end connected for ten years and my connecting a new one to the front caliper,... correctly, hasn't impressed the red light.
Maybe I am supposed to drive things for awhile to get the rotors and pads all happy together.
Brake pad warning light.
Sure, it's no big deal. They of course work by turning on the light when the circuit is broken so you would have to connect the wires on the body side to turn the light off. Or pull the cluster and remove the lamp.

The wild card or my excuse for stupid was the rear caliper female plug never having the male (to the brake pad) inserted in years. Just taped off, with no illumination of the warning light. Go figure.
Once I caved in and did things properly, the gauge light went off. Making perfect sense ? D'oh.
With one stubborn exception. Because I inspect the suspension, underside parts regularly I think the indicators are mickey mouse, more things to go wrong,... to opt not to screw around pushing the plastic clip into the pad notch. That would have required the bracket, clips installed between the caliper bolt and backing plate, also not there for years.
The male end inserted, taped, tie wrapped to the brake lines nicely, ended this episode of another reality show nobody is watching. Light out.
