5 speed tranny in my 1980 ( just turned 90k ) is getting a little "notchy". Anyone with rebuild info ( kits / shops / etc. ) I'm in Georgia. Using Redline MT-90. Thanks in advance ...

Did you ever find that 2002 steering wheel in your basement? Rosallina's ('80) shifting is also a lil notchy. I thought this was sorta normal because a bavauto short shift kit was installed when I brought her home. Plus I had nothing to compare to.
Is it synchros that help or create the notchiness? Nothing crunches either.

5 speeds generally don't go bad after 90K unless really abused. Try changing the fluid and rebuilding your shifter. There are several bushings that will wear including your shift linkage that will create slop. If you need to rebuild your tranny, research who you let touch it. It's not easy and requires very special technique to remove the first gear. If you damage the gear, it's done. Don't let just anyone work on it. I had mine done after 300K miles and barely had any wear. The synchronizers and bearings can still be found but will take time. You are looking at $1200 minimum if you get someone to do you a favor. The first guy I let work on it, only changed the seals and it leaked worse after he finished. It was worth driving three hours to Washington DC to my other guy.

Try a mix of 1qt of Redline MTL and 0.7qt of 80wt gear oil

That should make things easier to shift. There should be no need to rebuild yours. If I was going to have a 265 rebuilt, I'd have Jim Blanton do it.
