Hi gents, would like whether a 535i crankshaft would fit well in a 528i without any other changes, if more changes are needed, what are they? Purpose is for more power, as I'm turning the 528i into a spinning car. Would I need to change pistons too, rods? Etc

Just find a 3.5 motor? Where are you?

Stock, an E12, 528i cam is about as good as it gets. A M35 cam out of a 88+ B35 car might be a bit of an increase, but not a lot. The E12 cam is a little torque biased but still very good. If you really want more cam you need a Schrick or a Paul Burke cam, not a stock BMW cam.

You need pistons too, as the throw of the 3.5 crank will smash the current ones in to the head.
I don't know if there are any 86mm pistons that would work with a 3.5 crank - so you might have to mill the block to 89mm, in which case you can fit 89mm pistons from a B32.
As GripGreg suggested, just look for a stronger engine.

Fixed
Milling the block would not be a good idea in this case.
