Timing Mark M30b35 (e32 7series)

Post by trevor LI »

Hello All,

I,m preparing an e32 engine for transplant in my e12. Whie I had the timing covers off for painting, new gaskets and seals etc, I reinstalled the 32mm crankshaft nut just for storage (hardly tight). In removing this nut to re-install the timing covers its probable that the timing chain skipped a tooth (not sure).

By mistake I installed the covers without first double checking the timing. Is there a way to verify TDC with both timing covers on?

Suggestions always appreciated.
