Hopefully someone has had this mechanism apart. Driving me nuts trying to get the hood to pop. If you look in in the Realoem diagram E12 530i Engine Hood Mechanism ....Part #9 "nipple"...does this part go inside #10 the Hood Lock with the narrow part sticking thru the cable hole

I've changed both and I know they don't interchange with late E24/E28. I don't know about others but I doubt it. But it appears to available and have a dealer list of about $20 or URO brand at Rockauto for a 5 spot.

Idler arm bushing interchangability

I want to replace the bushing in the arm but WordPac doesn't have it for an E12. They do however have some bushing for the E24 and E32 (633,733).

I understand that they use a different style arm, but is the bushing different also?

Part numbers do not match the E12, but picture looks identical ...
