Was the car running before the head swap? I'm still a noob with diagnosing these things but while going through spark, air, fuel, it's easy to forget exhaust. I had a car with a bad cat in the exhaust and it would crank and not start. More likely then that though maybe you have a vac hose going to ...

This was an interesting discussion on mye28. Starts just at the bottom of page one. They talk about oil starvation under hard cornering in the m30 because oil stays in the head.

Can't wait for the FAQ write up! It would be awesome to compile everyone's Homemade setup if they were ok with disclosing them. How much does Bilstien charge for a re-valve? I know the components add up but I wonder how cheeper a quality homemade coilover could be compared to ground control's $1500 ...

If you are going turbo in the future, you want lower compression to start with. This means you want the B34 engine and head. As compared to the B35, you will be getting different pistons and valves with the B34. I'm using the M106 block ...

I want to just get the motor in and running stock for a while while I save for the turbo components.
There is a good argument for the b35. Here is what got me thinking about the b34 http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=91 ... hlight=b35
Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Yeah I would go b35, But I'm eventually going to go the turbo route and the word I've heard is b35 blocks crack under FI. The engine management would get changed when I put the turbo together anyway. I kinda figured b34s are thought of as less desirable too so maybe they would be easier to find?...I ...

the b34 search begins
In the next few months I'm going to be looking for a healthy b34 to go in the e12. I'm thinking one from an auto trans e28 might be my best bet but what do you guys think? Maybe less wear on the motor right? Anyone know any places they trust in the northwest to source one of these or is my best bet ...

There are a few different companies offering something similar. Anyone changed their bolt pattern before? Thoughts?
Also apart from changing some suspension dynamics, Any other cons for running quality spacers?

I'm in the middle of a little weight reduction myself. Mind if I ask how far you've gone with it to get that low?
I don't have a scale to weigh what I've taken off, But so far it's just the bumpers, bumper shocks, sound deadening, and sunroof motor. I was surprised the front seats felt like they ...
