Hello all,
Tested compression during a plug and wire swap on my '79 528i and got around 110-120psi on all cylinders. I was trying to find where this is on the spectrum of tired engines, but couldn't find much. What is the original compression on an m30? Is 110 low enough to consider a rebuild? Also ...

Brake Caliper Questions

I am working my way through rebuilding my brake calipers on my 79 528i. Almost all pistons were frozen. I have removed them from the calipers with the help of a diesel injector pop tester. As I am trying to get them cleaned up I have a couple of questions for those of you with more experience;

Finally got it in the air and tried reverse. It turns freely and I can even come of the clutch and it will spin. However, when I put it back in neutral, wheels stop turning almost immediately. Is it possible to disconnect the parking brake to check if that's the culprit? Not ever really messed with the parking brake before.
