I have a pretty good leak where the speedo cable attaches to the 5spd transmission. In addition to drip off the tranny, the fluid is filling up the cable and leaking out of the junction box where the two cables connect.
Question - is there an inside o-ring (or two) as well as the outside on on the part that the cable slides into that fits inside the transmission case?
Anyone know of the part number(s) I need to order for the seals?
Hoping to fix this annoying leak.

The entire speedo drive spindle assy just slides in, with the cable out it's held in place only by stiction. (I love that weird word, LOL) Meaning its the sticky oil, not any kind of mechanical action holding it in place. The oil will keep hold of it, I've used a needle nose pliers to pull things out. Usually it all comes out, but the assy is two parts and sometimes only one comes out. If so keep trying, it's not all that hard.

Thanks Mike,
I have the assembly out of the transmission and the shaft with the gear easily separated from the bushing.
Trouble is the bushing does not pull apart from the adapter so I can change the shaft seal inside it. Not easy to grip the bushing and I don't want to chew it up with pliers.
Is it threaded or some special trick?
Thanks.

I've never had to dig into that part of it. I've got one I can look at, but I'm out of town and will be until at least sunday. Let me know if you want me to check next week.
