Holding RPM, it drops.

Post by T.Hanson »

Starts right up. Rev it to 2,000 and hold the pedal there, it slowly drops. As if the fuel flow gets puny.

Just curious what it might be to do a quick adjust. My problem is carb thinking when L-Jet is usually about adjusting the air or timing or combinations.

Otherwise I'm still making it mine. Oil, filters, plugs, wires, timing, valves, fuel pump,... should find it eventually.

I had a problem just like that that was solved by fixing a solder joint in the combo relay like in the FAQ. AFter the car started, the fuel pressure just died away. Maintaining power to the fuel pump with engine running is one of the relay's functions.

Changed out the combo relay, better, timed it with it warmed up enough to hold 2200 r.p.m.. Seems to be fixed, and running smoother, cleaner.

The poor thing has been sitting for a long time.
