Do our cars require a Zinc additive?
Flat tappet engine?

No, I don't think so. My E28, which I sold 2 years ago with 330K on the clock, has a perfect looking cam the last valve adjustment I did which was not too long before I sold it. And that cam came out of an engine that was run out of oil and threw a rod at 175K. Nothing but good old dino Castrol 20-50 in the 11 years and 155K I put on it. There are those who differ and some endless oil threads on Mye28, but I say no.
