Front shock parts exploded view shows the foam," absorber," and black plastic protection tube.
My Bilsteins used a bellows, with no absorbers or protection tube (cap, cover) anywhere during disassembly. These items are very visible in the rear shocks, or a piece of something to know to replace.
So, are there situations, front shocks that don't use the foam absorber/ protection tube ?
Front shock necessary parts
I'm told Bilsteins have an internal bump stop so the foam is not needed. And the bellows of course eliminates the need for the plastic cover.

Thank you, I found installation instructions via Google, you must've written.
Then, they say not to use impact tools. Too late, I already removed the nylock nuts on top. I'll be interested to see the wrench tool contraption that has the deep socket to tighten that large nut, with a hole in the center that allows the shock rod through, to hold the square end on it.
Any hints on that ? Or do we just ignore them again and impact the big nut back on ?
