Remove EGR...Need Help Please.

Post by shebuilt »

This should be a simple one to attack today. I was completing my removal of the items no longer needed after removal of thermal reactors as instructed on our tech FAQ and this large hole in my intake has no threads!

I misunderstood I see and thought it would just need a screw that size.

So since it is a gaping hole with no threads, what can I plug it up with forum?

Appreciate it! Next undertaking will be steering.

Out from under my small shade tree; re-install what came out & plug THAT up??
Back under!
Here's another one; there ARE self-threading screws or bolts around, but, I'm thinking you must be careful with the shavings??
Back under!

Thank you for coming out a bit from the shade! I will visit a home depot tomorrow and wonder aimlessly until I find something to put in there.

And I am keeping the EGR whole along with all the equipment that came off in case the smog guys say no!

YES! Thanks guys! Greg, I hope to be free soon. Off to work again Friday but should be back next Friday.

I want you guys to all say a prayer because I am determined to get the R12 from the state I am working in back on the plane! LOL.

Seems like I jammed a piece of hose in there and plugged that with a bolt when I injected my Bavaria way back when.

Good luck on the R12 and a plane, I have no idea if it's ok or not.

Got the R12 but sadly airlines said no - but I got an awesome deal on 3 14oz and oil for cheap and it took almost all three and a very long time, but ice cold.

Question Mike, what should I look for now to make sure all is well? I don't have a proper gauge to measure if its exactly the 2.2 lbs it states on my hood.

3 12's is just about perfect. 3, 14's would be 42OZ which would be 6OZ or almost half a pound too much. Pressures should be about 25-30 on the low side and 225 on the high side.
