Euro bumper question
Hey all
I'd like to start bolting on the rear euro bumper. Is there a detailed walk-through somewhere? For these bracket looking things from the USA bumper, do I just grind off the protruding parts? I've never done any car modifying like this before so just assume I know nothing.

the rear bumper is fairly easy to bolt up, just need to sawzall the two tab at the rear.
I used the plastic washer 51-12-5-670-140 I bought that from www.bmwpartssource.com, $ 3.78... Pelican has them for $6.00.http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/5 ... 70-140-BOE
but the rest of the hardware I purchased it thru www.Belmetric.com, they have OEM class 8.8. If you go thru BMW as you know they will charge you 10 times more.
Also I reused the stainless steel carriage from my old bumper to assemble the Euro bumper.
I also purchased the rubber washer at ECS tuning https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw ... 125071710/ to secure the end of the bumper to the quarter panel

The front bumpers need more planning, I took the same approach as as another first five member Blaise .

I welded to M8 nuts to a flat piece of metal 3/16 X 1" and inserted it through the front frame rail and then secured it with M6 bolt fro m the outer part of the frame.

I then pulled it through the frame rail with string.

I also took the opportunity to add the Alpina front spoiler

Charles,
Thanks for the compliment, but let give credit where it due.
Your car is stunning. Paint job is flawless (I assume original Paint).
Your upgrades are what I plan on doing to my car.
So far I have done:
28 mm Sway Bar ( front)
22 mm sway bar (rear )
euro bumper conversion
Alpina front spoiler
Alpina steering wheel
Bilstein sport shocks

Thanks Charles! I'm sure I will have tons of questions. Here is a pic of the Momo wheel that I think is super cool. Project is moving very slowly of course. But at least it has been indoors since shipping from Los Angeles to Minneapolis. My interior is also tan like Joe's but I put red front E28 seats in it, hopefully the backseat will go in soon as well.

Curious about odd posting layout.
What sort of photo, comment posting is at work to make the usual layout format so ultra wide screen weird ?
