Electric windows to manual, is it easy

Post by Mark »

I want to swap all 4 electric windows to manual, is it easy to do, what parts do I need. Im trying to loose some weight in the car and 4 motors would be a good start.

Ship me the electric motors, wiring and buttons, please.

It's really easy to do it'll just fall into place.

You'll need handles and those scissors inside the doors. That's it.

Thanks for the reply, what are the 'scissors', is that part of the mechanism I need.

How much do you want for the parts you have to convert to manual windows ?

I can't find a number or name for it but it's number one which I mean.

Cheers,

Manual windows

Post by Mark »

So how would this work, my car is a daily driver so I guess I would need to install the manual window mechanisms on all 4 windows, and then send you all the stuff I have taken off, so it would rely on you sending me your parts first. The only other problems I could see would be,

1, I wasnt planning to pull out the entire wiring harness, I was planning to cut as the wire goes through the outside of the doors, would that be a problem ?

2, It could be quite expensive to ship all 4 of my motors, switches and all the other bits to the Netherlands.

By the way, all 4 of my electric windows work very well.

This would be no problem except shipping could be more expensive the buying a set local to you.

I would deff need all the wires etc.

Could you infor how much it'll cost perhaps we can discuss. Those bits are quite hard to find here, hence my interest. But is shipping wouls be to expensive then I'll continue my search :). However airco is first on my list :).

Electric windows

Post by Mark »

Sorry its taken a while to get back to yuo, been trying to find out how to pull out all the electric window mechanism, I dont think I will be pulling out the whole wiring harness due to the fact the car is modofied and it would be hard to do as there is a lot of non standard wiring about, thanks for the offer anyway,
