Rear brake caliper has a seal on one piston that has lost a part of the outside seal. About half of the ( circumference) of the outermost skirt lip.
No leaking. Is danger lurking ?

The outside boot is there to keep dirt out. Dirt will affect the seal and piston. it will be a problem in time.

How hard is it to rebuild ? I.e., remove piston.
Kits seem available while driver rear rebuilt calipers are not.

Thank you.
I hate it when I'm dense in public.

I've rebuilt brake calipers. There's nothing tricky about it except to get it all really clean before reassembly. then wipe a little brake fluid onto the rubber parts to lube them as you slide them on. then tugging the outer rubber boot on is tough cuz you can't get a grip on the slippery thing...
