Tech question regarding Bilstein sports for rear.

Post by kidballistic »

I recently got a pair of these for the rear on e-bay. They are new, and have part number of F4-B46-0730-H002 on a sticker then 742-0730-H002 on the shock itself. I have yet to install. There are only two perch settings about a half inch apart. This is confusing me. I thought there were more than two settings??? Somebody tell me if I have been had.

Thanks for your time guys-

I just bought, installed HD's. Two perch settings. They came with two different lower spring perches: one set standard, the other like upside down bowls for lower spring mounting.

My old Sports have four (?) perch settings. B - 46 089 ?

The Sports, with Eibach lowering springs, drop things about an inch (+). HD's not quite as much, and the Eibach springs in the rear are right on the edge of flopping around at full extension.

I'm Getting older and grouchier. I'll bet cutting the stock springs with HD's would work just fine for street cruising that little dab lower.

Ok returned em and just got these back a few days ago, they swear these are for the E12...It has 5 settings, part number-
F4-B46-0819-HO Typ 20/- Other than missing the 1 in between the 8 and the 9.... I am hoping you just left that out and I am all good lol...

I think I am going to try the B&G springs. They say it is 1.6/1.6 lower, Eibachs would be to high for me at 1.0/1.0...

Hmm after checking some parts numbers, it shows no sports for e12, and these are comming up in the 2500, 2800, 3.0... bavaria catagory. Anyone know if this fits? We are talking about the rears here...

Third edit- Ok, checked Bavarian Autosport, the parts numbers match up!
WOOO HOOOO! Shoulda gone there first I guess
