Can anyone recommend a good machine shop to rebuild a 530i head? BOTH of the shops I would normally use have gone out of business.

Might also need a block honed, but the head is the thing I want to get done right the first time...

Anyone had any good experiences?

Try Star machine in Emeryville. Seth has always done a good job on my Mercedes projects. Just be sure that the head you are having done is not one of those early casting models.

Best Machine in San Rafeal just over the Richmond Bridge. Several Marin BMW specialist recommended him to me. He's currently rebuilding my head.
