One of my fuel injection harness plug housings is broken. I have a replacement, but I need to pull the wires out.
I know that there is a barb in there that I need to push, but I am not sure where it is.
Is it accessed from the wire side, or the connection side. I am guessing it is on the side that has a gap (seen on the plug side).

It is accessed from the plug side, not the wire side. It's tricky without the right release tool, but I've done it. I've only had success on the 2 terminal connectors though, not on the 3 or more. I like to do it that way, but the more common way is to just splice a replacement connector on, they come with little pigtails so you can do just that.

Thanks for the help. The terminals came out easily on the new plug, but would not budge on the old broken plug housing...despite the barb being pushed in. Something was hanging up....so I just broke the housing away.
The new housing went on great and all is in order. The new housing is a newer style with a retainer that one can push with a finger. Maybe these photos will help the next guy:

I was going to get mine from them.....but they are out until 6/1/10 and I did not want to wait.
So, I bought the one you see in the photo from Double 02 Salvage for $11. It came with the wires in it.
I may still order a spare and the tool from the above link.
