Jan, I've got a genuine (paper-based) Haynes manual for the 528i. Would indeed not be a bad idea to digitize these kind of manuals. Although they are readily available at marktplaats or ebay for a decent price as well.
I find that the Haynes manual is too not bad, but it's also not in very much detail either. I only wish Bentley would also make repair manuals for the E12..
Anyway, do you need to know something specific?

E12 M535i '80 (currently restoring)
Not really specific but I would use it to have the torque demands for some bolts. Soon I'll be changing the diff (again) and thought it would be cool to set the bolts to the right torque.
I'm always a bit conservative in buying a manual for my car as there is not much original left on it. I do have a two books that came with the car containing the wiring schematics and basic repairs/maintenance. The only thing a manual would add is some torque settings of some bolts
