Idle miss.

Haven't taken it on a road run, 3 grand, 60 m.p.h. for a long time. Body work dreams, etc. Detailed the engine, new, shiny, all parts up to specs as best I know. Starts fine.

So, what causes, " Rrrrrr pfutt, rrrrrr, pfutt, pfutt, idling ?"

Seems to rev fine, no stumble or missing.

Just needs to run ? Or, pull the plugs ? New rotor, wires, cap, odd to be ignition.

This is a standard feature on my E12's although the gold 81 has minimal......Rrrrrr pfutt, rrrrrr, pfutt, pfutt, idling

So, there are two of us hoping Mike, Peter, Lenny or another resident expert will tell us why it does what it ain't supposed to.

As with the sensitive throttle. No way in heck '81's did it from the factory, new, or phutt, phutt, phutt idling. I'm just curious stubborn enough to want to know what little rascal things aren't right.

Yes, the easy way first. Have somebody tell me.

For years I thought the slight stumbling was also just a natural characteristic of these engines.
I've owned a few, seen several and most ran about the same, some worse.

That is, until I saw . . . SAM'S CAR

Now I realize that most engines are running a little off.
Why? Wish I had that answer. Excessive blow-by? Slight vacuum leaks? Little too much carbon in the heads? Combination thereof?

I don't know why, but I do know most could run better.
Any Insights would be appreciated.
