Yay or nay?
Will the e34 gearbox mate with my m30b34? I don't have a fuel system yet so its open in that respect. I'm pretty sure the engine is from an E28.
E34 5 speed 535i gearbox
It will bolt up to the engine just fine, however I'm not sure what driveshaft you will need. One from an 86-88 E28 5 speed will probably work, but I'm not at all sure. It's a Getrag G260/6, a decent transmission, but without provisions for either flywheel sensors for E28 era Motronic, or any sort of speedo drive.

Well, the upper timing cover and distributor too, it's all tied into one on motronic, but it's not a big deal. Actually the E12 intake manifold too, while it's possible to make the E28 one work, you would need adapter brackets to hold the rail in place and a different power brake booster to clear the later manifold. Think pan thru valve cover, but not the stuff hanging off the side.ChrisM wrote:That would just mean I would need the l-jet injectors and fuel rail right?
