Bump Steer correction Strut Spacers

Post by Pete K »

I remember a while back some guys talking about getting some strut spacers for their lowered cars as it improves the way the front tyres gain camber when the car leans during cornering, so gives more grip. Sounds good to me.

Does anyone have some and do they make a difference? I saw the 1/2 spacers advertised by AKG for $110. If it improves the handling, it sounds like pretty good value for money to me.

Cheers

Sort of half answered my own question. By adding the 1/2" spacers, the car has 0.28 degrees more neg camber at full body lean (the 520i leans 2.1 deg when it is doing a 1.3 g turn which is the highest I've recorded). In case anyone's interested, here's an export of the sketches. (I know it's a pretty rough estimation of a car, but it gets the job done).
