ECU weatherproofing enclosure
Hi folks I have done a M30 swap with an e32 wiring harness into e12 based e24.....the harness is about 1.5 feet shorter en route to the ecu leaving the only location for the ECU either in the engine bay above the brake boosters or in the bulkhead between windscreen and engine bay instead of inside behind glovebox.........i do not want to cut and extend the few dozens wires to the ECU in order to reach the glovebox area......has anyone made an enclosure or box to keep the ECU dry???? I'm considering fabricating a simple box or buying a plastic electrical enclosure of some sort.......anyone done this before????

I'd heard some, perhaps E34, harnesses were long enough even though they normally resided in the engine compartment. Regardless, you will need to shield it from water, not seal it completely. If you try the latter, like putting it in a plastic bag, it is likely to get some in there which will never be able to get out. Think well covered, but mounted somewhat above whatever it's mounted on so it's drainable.
