Steering Box- Are there conversions

Post by johnsugameli »

Hi All,

I am wondering if any of you have heard of a way to modify the steering to reduce lock to lock? My track car is almost perfect now, but steering on the race track is a lot like driving a bus, even compared to an e30.

I would obviously prefer a bolt in solution if possible.

Look forward to any wisdom out there

Thanks

quicker steering

Same era six series is probably one third quicker. It'd be a bolt in fix.

Nope, 6ers were the same.
Part 32131466153 (AT-HYDRO STEERING BOX) was found on the following vehicles:

E12: Details on E12
E12 528i Sedan, USA
E12 530i Sedan, USA

E24: Details on E24
E24 630CSi Coupe, USA
E24 633CSi Coupe, USA
M535i's seemed to use a different box, I assume it was quicker but I don't really know.
