130K is a little early for a second clutch, unless the PO was a clutch rider. You could also need a rear oil seal, which would pour oil on your clutch parts causing problems.

Clutch parts are about $200 for pressure plate, clutch plate, and release bearing. While you're in there, might as well replace the pilot bearing ($10, but a bitch to get out).

If you're not doing it yourself, $5-600 is about right, if your driveshaft is OK.

OTH, if you're serious about owning this kind of car, it's time to get some wheels while you learn how to do the job. 10 years ago when I bought my first BMW, 1 1977 530i, I would have been really scared to do the job. Since then I've rebuilt 2 big six motors, replaced a bunch of clutches, etc... and now I wouldn't buy anything but a big 6.

Did i mention that I have a Bavaria AND a 745i?

Go for it.
