i do have a look there from time to time but I find this forum to be far better at the technical stuff.......

big coupe seems to have very little on e12 based e24......just the later e24

this morning I had look around at the temperature sensors I had lying around and they all are 2 pin sensors.....i tried using the one that came off the car....a 79 e12 based e24 running ljet....stuck it in.....ran a wire to earth it but still nothing.....i was suprised it didn't work as it was the ...

i checked out and i have few old temp sensors around so i'll try one of them......
i guess the temp sensor from original jetronic 1979 engine should do fine if going on 1979 car.........

hi again thanks for info....
I did a motronic 1.3 conversion e32 engine into e12 based e24 and cannot get coolant temperature gauge to work in dash......and possibly the ECU is getting no temperature signal either as the car is idling a little poor and not as powerful as i expected it to be.....

Hi folks I have done a M30 swap with an e32 wiring harness into e12 based e24.....the harness is about 1.5 feet shorter en route to the ecu leaving the only location for the ECU either in the engine bay above the brake boosters or in the bulkhead between windscreen and engine bay instead of inside ...

have question on coolant temp sensors....i have m30 b35 installed that has 2 sensors on the thermostat housing. one is blue and other black i believe...i left the original rad in. This rad has another sensor at the bottom ...

anyone ever weld in couple flexible exhaust pipe sections.....might refine the exhaust a litte and take pressure off the manifold....had two cracked manifolds on two engines....luckily the manifolds were flanged between cylinder 3/4 so got one good manifold from the 2.........just a thought ...

found few vacuum leaks air and there idling better now.........got oil leak from flywheel/ bellhosing.....that sucks donkey dick.....read the bolts attaching the flywheel can leak oil......i'm suprised the bolts are supposed to seal oil too!!!!! crank seal was not replaced......''not apparently ...

fuel pump was knackered...car starting and running now happy days but engine is racing and settling down to normal idle momentarily before racing again in cycles......any ideas???

Thanks for the inputs.....turns out i have a fuel problem......there is pressure at fuel inlet but possibly not enough.....replaced the regulator with a spare and by passed one of the fuel filters......there is fuel in the rail but nothing coming out the return pipe......unfortunately i do not have ...

nice install and thanks for reply....from what i have seen of other conversions yours is quite unique.....from looking at your cold valve on throttle body..you are running motronic 1.3 i assume...most people seem to just horse in the newer m30s.......The jetronic engine that was in my car was fried ...
